The point guard says he is confident that he and Luka Doncic will be able to make up for last year’s false start, which saw the Texan team win just 5 victories in the first 16 games the duo played together.
“I honestly think we were both too passive. But we are two killers on the pitch, everyone knows it. And we want to win. So we just have to have the mentality to achieve the common goal, lead the team in the best possible way together with the other guys who already have experience, and those who still have to do it. Last year everything was so fast, there was so much pressure on us to win now, and to win big, you were all asking “Luka and Kyrie are there, why can’t you win matches?”
Health is everything in this league, but we weren’t 100% and we went through last season trying to do the best we could, mentally, emotionally and physically.”
