15,000 people took the opportunity to enter the Peace Park on the occasion of the extraordinary opening which hosted the first major musical, cultural, naturalistic, sporting event for all ages organized by the Municipality of Vicenza and the Vicenza Festival Coordination which today brings together the six realities that traditionally enliven the summer in the city with the Jamrock, Lumen, Riviera Folk, Ferrock, From Disco To Disco and Spiorock events.
Hangar Palooza Festival opened on Friday 13 October with a morning and afternoon dedicated to 228 students, of which 178 from the primary schools of the city’s comprehensive institutes and 50 from the lower secondary schools of the Vicenza High school, accompanied by around thirty teachers who participated in three different activities. They were the first who were able to visit the park.
The festival officially kicked off at 6pm on Friday 13 October and ended on Sunday 15 October at midnight. 55 hours of events they were distributed on Friday from 6pm to 4am, Saturday from 7am to 4am and Sunday from 7am to midnight. And then 30 hours of musicWhile 150 people they witnessed cinque debates and conferences, 150 a cinque projections, 50 a Three workshop, hundreds of children at cinque activity dedicated to them, due exhibitions, market and food area. Much appreciated visits to the park and the path in little train on board which 600 people boarded.
There was also the involvement of new ones sports associations for testing some disciplines or for carrying out activities: Run X VicenzaOpen Day Rangers Rugby dedicated to children and teenagers and international under 16 match, trials tennis for children, teenagers and adults, archery, Spartan workout, giro in canoto, and then 200 people took partpato alle Fiab and Velocittà rides, the latter with an exceptional guide, the councilor for youth policies Leonardo Nicolai. At 9am, Saturday and Sunday 200 people they participated in due Yoga lessons.
During the festival a wall-mounted 200 square meters large, offered by the Blunt skate shop and curated by Giovanni Speranza.
The musical evenings that entertained the public during dinner were very popular. Three the musical situations in the main stagee con Populous, Derozer e Casino Royale, Three performances that preceded the main shows and Three during dinner at 7pm. After midnight due DJ set inside hangar 1 until 2 am, evenings then continue until 4 with the cinema. In the end due concerts at dawn at 7.
Due shows of juggling with fire took place on Friday and Saturday at midnight.

After years, a new festival is born in Vicenza that pushes the bar to a level that is difficult to imagine: we are not exaggerating when we say that there is no festival in Italy that starts at 7 in the morning and ends at 4 at night, with such a rich range of activities. . And the city participated with so much enthusiasm in a festival that brought so much music and that was able to unite the whole city, with proposals for the numerous families who showed up and with the possibility of living even at night, taking advantage of the interior of the ‘hangar 1. It was also an important moment to begin to understand the critical issues of the park: we were forced to imagine new solutions for mobility and parking, and we understood that to hold events of a certain level the economic costs are high and that for this reason it is essential to grow enthusiasm among the realities active in the city and make them protagonists, as we did on this occasion”.
The Ecological Sunday (15 October) coincided with a day of the festival to propose themed initiatives that could involve not only the city and the Italia district but also the Peace Park: the traveling photographic exhibition “Sick Pianura Padana” displayed photos of some views of Vicenza and others Venetian cities with different levels of pollution; Fiab has organized a ride from Piazza Biade, through the streets of the Quartiere Italia to the Parco della Pace; the conference “Vicenza breathes at the Peace Park” was held in the park. Air pollution, its effects and the role of our green lung”.
