Former Football Star Rodrigo Palacio Shines on the Basketball Court in Italy’s Serie D

Rodrigo Palacio is far from football but he never abandoned his passion: basketball.

The Bahian, after retiring from football in mid-2022 at Bologna, shines in Italy’s Serie D playing basketball.

His team, Polisportiva Garegnano, beat the leader Leone XIII by 76 to 68 and had the one who emerged from Bella Vista as a figure.

The Argentine excelled with 15 points and was his team’s top scorer.

Palace’s career

Born in Bella Vista, he then went on to Huracán de Tres Arroyos, Banfield and Boca Juniors, where in 185 games with the Ribera club, he won 8 titles (including the club’s last Copa Libertadores in 2007), scored 82 goals and placed in the top 15 of historical scorers with the blue and gold.

From there to Serie A, where he went to Genoa and then to Inter, where in 169 games he scored 58 goals. Finally, it was his last passage in Brescia, after a 4-year stay in Bologna. He finished with 737 games and 246 goals. In the Argentine National Team, where he reached the final in Brazil 2014, he played 27 games and scored 3 goals.
