Favorites Asvel and Bourges Secure Victories in Women’s League Matches

The first two matches of the fourth day of the Women’s League did not hold any surprises. Asvel and Bourges, favorites, easily won this Saturday, respectively against Tarbes (71-59) and Charnay (63-79).

While the Tarbaises mainly relied on Carla Leite (24 points, 56.3% shooting efficiency), Asvel increased the sources of danger, with five players at least ten units (Marine Fauthoux 16, Sandrine Gruda 13, Alexia Chery 12, Endy Miyem 11 and Helena Ciak 10), well served by Julie Allemand (13 assists, 21 evaluation).

Bourges, for its part, was able to count on Kayla Alexander (13 points, 13 rebounds) and Sarah Michel (15 pts, 6 rebounds), returning to the locker room at halftime with a comfortable lead (26-44). If Charnay threatened the Tango for a time in the third quarter (43-53), the promoted team was never able to catch up.

The other four matches will be played on Sunday, with Basket Landes notably hosting Charleville-Mézières (3:15 p.m.).
