Indonesia, led by coach Shin Tae-yong, has postponed its confirmation of participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Indonesian under-23 soccer team lost 0-2 to Uzbekistan in the semifinals of the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Asian Cup held at Abdulli Bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar on the 30th (Korean time).

This competition will also be held as an Asian regional qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will open in July. The 1st to 3rd place teams who have crossed the semifinals threshold will advance directly to the Olympics, and the 4th place team will have to go through an intercontinental playoff.

As a result, Indonesia, which was eliminated in the semifinals, will play Iraq, which lost to Japan in the other semifinals, for third and fourth place. The third place match between the two teams will be held on May 3 at 12:30 am.

Meanwhile, Japan, who lost to Hwang Seon-hong in the group stage, went on to win, defeated Iraq in the semifinals, and advanced to the finals to face Uzbekistan.
