Coliseo Mayor de Pereira Undergoes Adaptations for Judo and Wrestling Competitions in Eje Cafetero 2023 Games

Pereira, October 25, 2023. The Coliseum Mayor of Pereira, Rafael Cuartas Gaviria, is undergoing a series of adaptations to host the Judo and Wrestling competitions in the Eje Cafetero 2023 National and Paranational Games. The works, which began on February 8, 2023, they have satisfactory progress and an investment of more than 19 billion pesos.

Among the activities that are being carried out, the following stand out: the adaptation of the stands, walkways, roof, installation of elevators, woodwork, drinking water and RCI pumps, electrical plant and seating. In addition, six training areas are being built in the basement, a warehouse for sports implementation, a physical recovery area, a Turkish bath, a sauna, massage areas, bathrooms, warehouses and an administrative area.

The works generate approximately 218 direct and indirect jobs and are part of the sports infrastructure plan that is being carried out in the Coffee Region for the National and Paranational Games, which will take place from November 3 to 19 of next year. The Coliseo Mayor de Pereira is one of the most emblematic stages of the city and will have a capacity for 4,500 spectators.
