Korean badminton men’s doubles pair Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho won a silver medal in the badminton men’s doubles at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho, ranked 15th in the world in badminton men’s doubles, defeated India’s Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Sethi, ranked 3rd in the world, 0 to 2 (18-21, 16- 21) and lost. Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho, who were aiming for the men’s doubles gold medal at the Asian Games 21 years after mobility-utility at the 2002 Busan Asian Games, narrowly failed to win the gold medal.

Coach Kim, who conquered the Olympics and World Championships, won silver medals in women’s doubles at the 1990 Beijing and 1994 Hiroshima Asian Games. “I should have seen her win the gold medal (to her mother), but it’s a shame,” Kim Won-ho said after her match.
