Tennis top star Carlos Alcaraz surprisingly failed in the round of 16 of the Shanghai Masters. The 20-year-old Spaniard lost to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 7:5, 2:6, 4:6. Alcaraz’s last tournament victory to date remains Wimbledon.
For Alcaraz, it was only the second of 15 tournaments this season where he missed the quarter-finals. This last happened to him in Rome when he lost to the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan.
Alcaraz had won all three previous matches against Dimitrow. But now the 32-year-old world number 19 is playing. against the Chilean Nicolas Jarry for the semi-finals.
