ASVEL Basketball Club Hit by Cyberattack and Data Breach

Betclic ÉLITE – ASVEL was the victim of a cyberattack. Players’ personal data was stolen, but not only that.

As ASVEL prepares to play the first match of its EuroLeague season at home, bad news affected the club this Thursday. According to Cybernews, the Rhone institution was hit by a cyberattack carried out by the NoEscape group.

As much as 32 gigabytes of data were stolen, including players’ personal data, passports, ID cards, financial documents, contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and other confidential materials.

The exact method by which this data breach occurred remains unclear. ASVEL has not yet communicated on the subject. According to information from CybernewsNoEscape targeted 54 diverse organizations, demanding ransoms ranging from several hundred thousand to several million dollars.
