Yesterday, October 19, at the section of Democratic party Of Albano Laziale in Via Vittorio Veneto, a meeting was held with the Mayor Massimiliano Borelli on the topic “The present and future of our city“, to illustrate the great opportunities offered by the PNRR.

After the introduction by the secretary Gabriele Recano, the Mayor wanted to underline how much the centre-left Administration is well aware of the importance of these great opportunities to give our City a new face that is inspired by the recovery of public spaces, usable from everyone, to liveability and sustainability, putting people at the center of every action.

The Mayor illustrated the general nature of the interventions which amount to approximately 26 million euros and which will concern all three of our urban centers of Albano, Pavona and Cecchina.

In particular, as regards the center of Albano, the Mayor specified that in an overall vision of the historic centre, in addition to the redevelopment interventions of Via delle Rotonda and Via Aurelio Saffi, the pavement will be remade and the redevelopment of Piazza Carducci and Via Sant’Ambrogio.

Palazzo Savelli will also be affected by a redevelopment of all the premises (in particular those of the former Barchiesi hardware store, the former PD section and the bathrooms in via Settimio Severo), which will be transformed into a three-level exhibition center where the Museum of the II Parthian Legion will be transferred, and the House of the history and memory of Albano and the Castelli Romani will be created.

Other interventions will concern the Palazzo Camerale which contains some municipal offices on Via Alcide De Gasperi with the consolidation of the roof and the creation of further spaces that will be used as offices.

The Civic Museum will also be renovated with renovations to the roof and facades.

Furthermore, the space of the former municipal greenhouse, located near the Cisternoni, will be redeveloped, with the recovery of a green area to be made available to citizens.

The functional recovery of the former prison building will be carried out with the reactivation of a space to be used for the benefit of all citizens, while another intervention will be that of consolidation and energy efficiency of the municipal houses in Via Propaganda.

A total of approximately 4.75 million euros will be invested in Pavona. This is PINQUA, the National Supplementary Program for the Quality of Living.

There will be several interventions: the creation of a roundabout between Via Piani di Monte Savello and Via Nettunense, with Via di Valle Pozzo incorporated into the roundabout itself, to improve circulation;

a youth center will be built in Piazza Sanremo to respond to the social and cultural fragility of the area; the renovation and energy efficiency of the Ater buildings in Via Roma will be carried out, to restore their decorum and make them sustainable.

To these interventions are added those already planned and which are being carried out outside the PNRR, namely the works on the new school in Via Torino and the static consolidation of the school in Via Como.

The PUI (Integrated Urban Plans) will be created in Cecchina: the intervention will concern the experimental center which will host the new library and spaces for a cultural centre; new parking areas and new green areas will be created.

Furthermore, again in Cecchina, thanks to regional funds for the recovery of real estate confiscated from the mafia, an apartment was renovated for fragile people with mental problems in order to give them a dignified and autonomous life, also being able to take advantage of a space for coworking to give the opportunity to carry out creative activities. With this in mind, with PNRR funds this house will be equipped with home automation systems.

The former school in Via Umbria will instead be transformed into a day centre, which will host autistic patients in adulthood, giving the possibility of experiencing more autonomy also through growth paths and ensuring relief for families who carry the burden of care.

All these interventions, concluded the Mayor, give us the measure of an Albano that builds a new present and projects itself towards the future, with the awareness that politics must not only tell, but provide and create solutions that are in favor of increase in the well-being and liveability of the entire community.
