A great season for William Beaudoin.

The least we can say is that William Beaudoin had a thunderous summer season. Indeed, in addition to having an excellent season with the ABC 16U, he was selected by the Toronto Blues Jays Academy, which could well open many doors for his future.

Thus, William’s selection by the Blue Jays Academy will ensure that he will be in action during Canada’s biggest “Showcase” next September. On this occasion, the 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams will have scouts on site, not to mention dozens of American colleges who will spy on the participants’ every move.

Certainly, several elements ensure that William was able to stand out during the 2023 season. First of all, he contributed to the good performances of the ABC 16U by playing the 13 games against the teams of the Junior Elite Baseball League of the Quebec (LBJÉQ), either as a starting pitcher or at the shortstop position.

This team also won top honors during the Southeast Select Tournament in Atlanta, presented from July 19 to 23. William did particularly well in the final game, pitching the final three innings to secure the victory. Moreover, he did not concede any points to his opponents during the entire tournament.

From August 9 to 13, the 17-year-old athlete was in the lineup with Team Quebec during the 2023 Baseball Canada Cup Championship presented in Regina, Saskatchewan, from August 9 to 13. Although Quebec’s journey ended in the semi-final against neighbors Ontario, William once again demonstrated all his know-how during the quarter-final match against Alberta, pitching 6 complete innings in a 4-to-1 win. 1.(PC)
