The Syntainics MBC prevailed in the first round of the BBL Cup in Frankfurt. A strong quarter was enough against the Fraport Skyliners. The cup season is already over for the Dresden Titans.

The Syntainics MBC prevailed against the second division team Fraport Skyliners with 81:73 (48:39) and will meet the MLP Academics Heidelberg in the next round (October 14th/15th, 2023).

The Weißenfels team got off to a bad start. Against the relegated team from the Bundesliga, Predrag Krunic’s team was temporarily seven points behind (12th minute), but then turned things around. After a strong second quarter that saw MBC win 25-11, the Wolves took a reassuring lead at halftime. The guests from Saxony-Anhalt particularly dominated on the boards and got ten more rebounds than the Frankfurt team. The third quarter was balanced and low in points (11:12), especially the hosts had huge problems scoring from the field. Five minutes before the end, the MBC pulled away to 16 points and extended the lead over time. Newcomer Diante Baldwin was the Weißenfels team’s most successful thrower with 17 points.
