Saints’ Quarterback Derek Carr Sidelined in Loss to Packers

The New Orleans Saints lost the services of their quarterback Derek Carr on Sunday in an 18-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Saints led 17-0 in the third quarter when Carr was sacked and left on the ground for a few moments. He eventually left the field and did not return to the game due to a shoulder injury.

By the time he left, Carr had thrown for 103 yards and a touchdown pass. He was replaced in the match by Jameis Winston.

After Carr’s injury, things got worse for the Saints. The Packers came back on track thanks to a rushing touchdown from Jordan Love, a touchdown pass from the latter to Romeo Doubs and 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter led the Green Bay team to victory.

Replacing Carr, Winston finished the game with 10 completed passes out of 16 attempts and 101 yards.

The Saints suffered their first defeat this season.
