South Korean Judo Champion, An Changrim, Inspires at Cremona Toad

CREMONA – Very special evening at Cremona toad with the South Korean champion An Changrim, 29 years old, top player in world judo. Born and raised in Japan, in Kyoto, An is part of that Korean minority residing in the Rising Sun. Although noticed by the Japanese national team, An maintained his Korean nationality, and in 2018 in Baku he won the world title in the 73 kg by beating the Japanese Hashimoto in the final. At the Tokyo 2020 Games he instead earned the bronze, stopped in the semifinal by the Georgian athlete.

Invited by the Lombardy Judo Federation (Fijlkam), of which Andrea Sozzi (president of Kodokan Cremona) is Technical Scrutineer, An started his Italian tour right from Cremona.

Recently retired from competitive sport and former coach of the Korean women’s national team, the champion showed all his qualities as a young coach, and was generous with advice towards the competitors of the Kodokan Cremona, whom he conquered with his skill and sympathy. And he showed a sample of his technique to him.
