Seventh Edition of Dominican Patriotic Games in Spain 2023 Welcomes Athletes from Europe and Latin America

Madrid (Spain).- The Dominican Sports Union (UNIDOM) will hold the seventh edition of the Dominican Patriotic Games in Spain 2023 with more than 800 athletes residing in Europe and several Latin American countries summoned.

In the activity that will take place from this Friday the 1st to the 3rd of the current month, the athletes will compete in: chess, basketball, baseball, soccer, table tennis, softball, judo and mixed volleyball.

Inauguration

The inauguration of the games was scheduled for this Friday the 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the La Elipa baseball stadium, in the sports center of the same name, Moratalaz district.

The show Somos will be presented at the ceremony, where different Creole artists residing here in Europe will perform.

Domingo Cuevas, general director of UNIDOM, informed that this year two baseball games will be held in which four teams will play; one of them (for the first time) from England.

According to a statement from the organization, the winners of the different disciplines will represent Europe in the next Azua 2024 National Games, in the Dominican Republic.

The games are sponsored by the Dominican Embassy in Spain, the Ministry of Sports, the Institute for Dominicans Abroad (INDEX), the Central Electoral Board, the Community of Madrid, among other public and private organizations.
