Sinner Undergoes Treatment at Juventus Turin’s Medical Facilities Amidst Roland-Garros Uncertainty

Since Friday, Sinner has been under the care of Juventus Turin’s renowned medical facilities. He works there with his team – his physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi and his physical trainer Umberto Ferrara –, carrying out exercises in the water and in the gym, while waiting to be able to pick up the racket again. According to the Italian daily, new tests will be carried out in the middle of the week to make a final decision on the possibility of lining up on the Porte d’Auteuil side. And even if the results are positive, the lack of preparation time for the five-set test would weigh heavily in the balance.

If the injury is not considered serious, it is a case of severe inflammation following trauma which should not be taken lightly either. The trend is therefore rather towards withdrawal to ensure complete recovery and not compromise the rest of the Italian’s career in the medium term. Sinner could then resume competition during the ATP 500 tournament in Halle (next June 17-23) preparatory to Wimbledon on grass.

In the event of his absence at Roland-Garros, the Italian could still become world number 1 at the end of the tournament. It would be enough for Novak Djokovic, title holder, not to reach the final on Parisian clay. But at present, these considerations are surely far from his mind.
