Milwaukee Bucks Swiftly Release Alex Antetokounmpo after Signing, Securing G League Rights

Alex Antetokounmpo has barely lasted a few hours on the Milwaukee Bucks roster. According to Eric Nehm, a journalist for The Athleticthe Wisconsin franchise has fired Giannis’ younger brother right after his signing, putting to rest any doubt regarding the possibility that he could be part of the team alongside Giannis himself and Thanasis.

Why was he signed then? Because with this move, the team retains its rights to the G League, which it will play except as a surprise with the Wisconsin Herd. In addition, since he will arrive in the league after signing an NBA contract, even for a few hours, he will receive a bonus of $ 75,000 if he spends at least 60 days with the team, thus making the stay more attractive.

Same situation for Iverson Molinar

This is in fact a decision that the Bucks already made with Alex last year, and that they have repeated with Iverson Molinar according to Keith Smith, a journalist for Spotter. The Panamanian, like Antetokounmpo, was already part of the team in the 22-23 season, but Milwaukee ensures that he is linked to its affiliate with this contractual bonus. The point guard averaged 10.5 points and 2.5 assists, starting 12 of the 22 games he played.
