On the eve of the start of the A2 championship, the third in a row, Pallacanestro Cantù has decided to sack coach Romeo Sacchetti, the expert coach who arrived in Brianza last year after his experience with the national team. The company announced this in the evening.
“Pallacanestro Cantù announces that it has relieved Romeo Sacchetti of his role as head coach. The club would like to thank coach Sacchetti for the work done so far and wishes him the best luck for the rest of his career. The technical leadership of the team has been definitively assigned to coach Devis Cagnardi, who will lead the first training session in the evening. At the same time, the club has called a press conference for tomorrow morning at 11.”
Last year Sacchetti led Cantù, which was surprisingly eliminated in the playoff semi-final by Pistoia. This year the team did not start in the best way, failing to qualify for the A2 Super Cup finals.
