Marchand Takes on Management Role for Czech Players on the Bruins

Marchand will also “manage” four Czech hockey players. The Bruins have on their roster gunner David Pastrňák, other forwards Pavel Zacha and Jakub Lauk, and defender Jakub Zbořil.

Marchand’s fifteenth season in the NHL awaits him, during which he is loyal to Boston. With 947 games played, the Canadian forward is eighth in club history, sixth with 372 goals, ninth with 490 assists and seventh in productivity.

“I am extremely proud of Brad and the hockey player he has become,” said Bruins General Manager Charlie Jacobs.

“He has been with us for over 15 years and had the opportunity to learn from great leaders Zden Chára and Patrice Bergeron. He is ready for this task and will infect the entire team with his competitiveness and tenacity,” he added. Slovak defender Chára was Boston’s captain from 2006 to 2020.
