It was a scary morning for a man of around 50 years of age who, aboard his Renault Captur, saw flames coming from the engine compartment in the Fontana di Papa area while he was driving, in the area of via Corioli, not far from the Castelli hospital.
The man ran away to save himself amidst the general stampede of other passers-by and motorists. A civil protection volunteer passing by, off duty, using a fire extinguisher that he had with him, limited the damage to the car which only partially caught fire. Then the subsequent arrival of the Velletri firefighters allowed the car to be made completely safe and the fire to be completely cleaned up, with the car completely burning in the front part.
