Al PalaPellicone in Lido di Ostiaan imposing sports structure of the Olympic Training Centre FOR YOU (Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation recognized by CONI as the only National Sports Federation, which officially represents Italy abroad), the training course and related exams for admission to the technical cadres in the Masters category were held.
The qualification corresponding to the 3rd level of the CONI National Qualification System, in FIJLKAM is structured with 4 phases: Aspiring coach, Coach, Instructor and Master. To meet the requirements for participation in the call for the Masters course, it is necessary to have many years of experience in previous qualifications.
This is the case of Laura Neri(ASD Funakoshi La Spezia) e Alessandro Azzinnari (ASD Karate Levanto SP) who after years of teaching were admitted to the Masters course and passed the exam brilliantly in front of a Commission made up of the elite of Italian karate. Chaired by the Vice President Davide Benetello (former World Champion) and by the National Councilor Cinzia Colaiacomo (DT of the Fiamme Oro Polizia), composed of the DT of the National Teams Luca Valdesi (several times World and European champion), Gennaro Talarico (responsible for National Youth Teams), Claudio Culasso (President of the Technical Teachers Commission), Vincenzo Figuccio (coach of the Senior National Teams), Sauro Baldiotti (member of the National Technical Teachers Commission), Massimo Montecchiani (Athletic Trainer of the National Teams), Vincenzo Riccardi (Vice President of the Lazio Region), the Commission examined over 60 candidates. Laura, who has been a teacher for years at the Funakoshi Club of La Spezia, the renowned sports association based in Migliarina, is a 5th dan black belt with a medal at the Italian Master Kata Championships and a participation in the European Masters Championships in Nice, and began practicing in 17 years old in 1985 at Funakoshi under the guidance of Maestro Sauro Baldiotti as well as Alessandro who started it at 6 years old in 1980 (demonstrating prodigious youthful skills) in Levanto where Baldiotti opened the Karate section of the famous Levanto Gymnastics Society. For Maestro Sauro Baldiotti, teacher of the course, it was a great satisfaction to see his students reach such a high goal.
