Indian Grand Prix races shortened due to heat

The drivers endured the first day of testing for the Indian Grand Prix on Friday with difficulty. With temperatures reaching 34°C in the shade and a humidity level of 70%, they made no secret of suffering on the motorbikes, which were also put under severe strain, as were the tires. Faced with this intense heat, the race management decided to shorten the event distances a little for the rest of the weekend.

In MotoGP, Saturday’s sprint, initially scheduled for 12 laps, will increase to 11 laps. Sunday’s race, which had 24 loops in the program, will ultimately include 21. The Moto3 and Moto2 races on Sunday will also be shortened by three laps.
