Kane looks back on his early days at Bayern

The Englishman is quoted in several English newspapers, including “The Guardian” and “The Independent” about his start with the German record champions.

Kane reveals, among other things, what is so different at Bayern than at his former club Tottenham!

The top striker reflects on his first month at Bayern as part of England’s international break. Kane: “It’s definitely a different pressure to the one I felt at Spurs. Of course we wanted to win everything at Spurs, but if you don’t win a few games it’s not a catastrophe.”

And further: “At Bayern you have the feeling that you have to win every game. We won the first two games 4-0 and 3-1 and yet there was talk that people weren’t too happy with the way we played. That’s part of being at one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

By the way: These statements were anything but well received by Spurs fans. Many of them raged against their (former) favorite on social media…

Kane continued on the extra pressure at Bayern: “But we got off to a good start and I enjoy feeling those different emotions and that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to leave. If we [von der Nationalmannschaft, Anm.d.Red.] come back, let’s start with the Champions League, where we’re expected to win it – or at least have a good chance of winning it. So you go into these games with a different feeling than I had in the past.”

Kane would not have played in Europe with Spurs this season because the Premier League club only finished eighth last season. The world star only reached the Champions League final once with Tottenham (0-2 against Liverpool in 2019). So far, Kane has not won a title in his career.

The striker: “I’ve said in interviews before that ultimately it’s up to me how good I can be and I felt like I had to play in the Champions League every year and fight for titles. Bayern Munich definitely gives me this opportunity.”

Kane immediately met expectations in his first three games (three goals/one assist). In the 4-0 win in Bremen he scored the 2-0 and prepared the 1-0, against Augsburg he scored twice in the 3-1 win. Only in Gladbach (2-1) did he fail to score.

If he continues like this, the chances are good that he will finally win his first titles with Bayern…
