MT Melsungen maintains its lead in the handball Bundesliga. The home win against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf was the seventh success in the seventh game for North Hesse.

MT Melsungen continues to storm through the handball Bundesliga and has confidently defended its lead in the table.

For the North Hessians there was their seventh win in their seventh game with a 34:26 (17:11) win over TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. This means that coach Roberto Garcia Parrondo’s team has 14:0 points. On Sunday, the Füchse Berlin, who are also still unbeaten, can draw level again with a win over newly promoted ThSV Eisenach.

Bad start for MT

The MT didn’t start the game well at all. In complete contrast to Lower Saxony, who jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the third minute. Melsungen subsequently appeared completely unaffected and turned the game around with a 7-0 run to make it 8-3 (13th). Ivan Martinovic and Timo Kastening were strong in this phase with three goals each.

Even after the break, the hosts exploited their impressive dominance to score goals. The best MT thrower in front of the 3,582 spectators was the German national player Kastening with eight goals. The Hanoverians, for whom Renars Uscins was successful five times, suffered a deserved defeat. With 8:6 points, TSV remains in fifth place.
