No starring role for Dodi Lukebakio on a visit to Barcelona. The Red Devil made a good impression, but did not score. Sergio Ramos gave Barcelona the win in the final quarter with an own goal. This was much to the delight of the Catalan fans.
After the resounding 5-1 win against Almeria and the outstanding role for Lukebakio, Sevilla and the Red Devil had to confirm their poor start to the season. That had to happen on a visit to Barcelona, which surprisingly lost to Mallorca on Tuesday.
Lukebakio really came into the game after 20 minutes – the Red Devil drifted a bit to the left from then on. He feels better there than in the striker position. The Andalusians’ danger often started or ended with Lukebakio before half time. Teammate Ramos hindered him on a cross, a few seconds later he kicked at Ter Stegen from an oblique angle. Ocampos was unable to take an excellent pass properly. In the meantime, the best chances were for Barcelona. Felix hit the crossbar face to face with Nyland, and five minutes before the break, Lopez shot from close range within reach of the Norwegian goalkeeper.

Lukebakio fired a volley over early in the second half. Afterwards it was Barça that did the talking. An attempt by Lewandowski was blocked, Koundé headed over, Yamal shot wide and Gavi shot over. The lead was inevitable and Ramos lent a helping hand. The ex-Real Madrid player unfortunately scored in his own goal. He received a serious dose of ridicule from the Catalan public. Moments before, Lukebakio was taken to the side. It remained at 1-0.
