Present in France’s group in the Davis Cup, Great Britain got off to an ideal start by dominating Australia (2-1) on Wednesday.
Jack Draper a d’abord battu Thanasi Kokkinakis (6-7 [6]6-3, 7-6 [4]) before his compatriot Daniel Evans imitated him by defeating Alex De Minaur (6-1, 2-6, 6-4). After this first day, Great Britain occupies second place in Group C behind France, victorious 3-0 over Switzerland on Tuesday. The top two from each group qualify for the final tournament, November 21-26 in Malaga, Spain.
Note in the other groups the victories of Canada over Italy (3-0) in group A, the Czech Republic against Spain (3-0) in group C and the United States against Croatia (2-1) in group D.
