Exor Denies Rumors of Juventus Sale Amid Financial and Legal Issues

The Exor holding company, owner of the Juventus, is considering putting the Serie A club up for sale, the Italian newspaper ‘Il Giornale’ wrote on Monday, without citing sources. Exor, controlled by the Agnelli family and listed in the Netherlands, considers Juventus’ recent financial results “no longer sustainable” and is embarrassed by its legal problems, the newspaper says.

Exor believes that after the operations to clean up the accounts of the historically most successful team in Italy, it will be able to put it up for sale for at least 1.5 billion euros, according to the aforementioned media.

Juventus were banned from UEFA competitions for this season after finishing seventh in Serie A last season due to a 10-point deduction for alleged false accounting practices.

Speculation has arisen in the past that Exor might sell Juventus, and in May a company spokesperson told Reuters that its commitment to the club “remains unchanged.”
