Chairman PSSI Erick Thohir assessing the drawing results for the 2023 U-17 World Cup as the best draw for U-17 Indonesian National Team.
The drawing or lottery for group divisions for the 2023 U-17 World Cup was held in Zurich, Switzerland, Friday (16/9) at 21.00 WIB.
The drawing results for the 2023 U-17 World Cup put Indonesia in Group A with Ecuador, Morocco and Panama.
“Don’t be afraid, even though we qualify automatically as hosts. Let’s show that we also deserve to appear in this U-17 World Cup,” said Erick Thohir after drawing for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
“This is the best match, I had other hopes but they didn’t come true. If we look at the three countries that are potential opponents, we have hope. Hopefully we can get through the elimination,” added Erick Thohir.
The U-17 World Cup will be held in Indonesia from 10 November to 2 December 2023.
The U-17 World Cup will be held in four stadiums, namely Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, and Manahan Stadium in Solo.
Later, in the group stage, the six group winners, six runners-up and the four best third-place teams will have the right to advance to the last 16.
