Leg: Mislintat storms into the Ajax trainer’s room, Vos plays
Jan Joost van Gangelen and Mario Been talk about the striking incident that preceded the classic.
A few hours before De Klassieker, De Telegraaf reports that Sven Mislintat shouted on De Toekomst that it is ‘D-day’ for Maurice Steijn. It was previously announced that the German director of football affairs had already wanted to fire the man from The Hague. A negative result for Ajax in the match against Feyenoord could therefore mean the end of Steijn’s era in Amsterdam.
On Saturday, Sven Mislintat reportedly stormed into the trainer’s room at De Toekomst and said that it was D-day for trainer Maurice Steijn, Mike Verweij reports. In addition, the director of football affairs is also said to have spoken to several substitutes and said that he does not understand why they are not playing. Mislintat has not yet responded to this.
John van ‘t Schip is surprised by the news: “I think he slept through the night if you do that. I would lay low a bit after everything that has been published this week.”
Jan Joost van Gangelen, Kees Kwakman, Mario Been and Kenneth Perez will preview the match between Ajax and Feyenoord from 1:00 PM. Kick-off is at 2:30 PM. All of this can be seen LIVE on ESPN2.
