Chess live: Register here for the final of the Armageddon Championship

WELT shows chess live and exclusively in a completely new pace and look. In the Armageddon Championship Series, 32 world-class players compete in five tournaments for a total of 460,000 euros in prize money. Now it’s time for the grand finale with the eight best participants.

The game is played in a fast-paced and extremely intense blitz format. No game lasts longer than ten to twelve minutes. There are at least eight per match day and they are played in a specially built TV studio on Unter den Linden, in the heart of Berlin. The players are wired, so you as a spectator can follow their moves as well as their heartbeats.

“The Armageddon Series is reaching its climax. The best chess players compete against each other under enormous pressure with the chance of winning 200,000 euros and the title,” says Ilya Merenzon, CEO of London-based organizer World Chess.

In the grand final week, eight world-class players will compete for the title of the Armageddon Championship Series from September 14th to 20th from 7:00 p.m.
