Carlos Alcarazthe young promise of Spanish tennis, is known for exciting the crowds on the court, usually with a racket and a ball, but this time he surprised in a different way. During their quarterfinal match against Alexander Zverev at the US Open, Alcaraz began twirling and juggling his racket in a mesmerizing sequence as he waited for the German to return from a medical break.
The official US Open account on the X social network (formerly Twitter) even shared the video with a caption that read: “this man can do it all.”
This ability, something like a party trickis an Alcaraz specialty and while it may have been a previously unheard of moment for casual fans, it’s something he’s done frequently throughout his promising career.
As expected, there were a multitude of astonished reactions to the talent of the sublime Spaniard. “I juggle my racket exactly like this in my dreams,” he tweeted. Pepper Brooks, ESPN Eight analyst. “If I practiced for 100 years I still couldn’t do this,” another user wrote, while another added: “I think I could play tennis with my eyes closed.”
Alcaraz defeated Zverev 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 and moved one step closer to becoming the first man to win back-to-back titles at Flushing Meadows since Roger Federer did so five straight times. 2004 to 2008.
