Coach U-17 Indonesian National Team Bima Sakti officially drops diaspora players Aaron Suitela from training camp (TC) ahead 2023 U-17 World Cup.
“We evaluated Aaron Suitela yesterday and it was not me who chose and decided. I spoke with Frank [Wormuth] and coach Indra and the coaching team, yes [Aaron] “There’s still not enough for us to take,” said Bima in Jakarta, Saturday (16/9).
Aaron Suitela is one of the diaspora players who got the opportunity to undergo selection for the U-17 Indonesian National Team. Several players who are currently pursuing careers abroad have been written off by Bima Sakti, such as Mahesa Ekayanto, Madrid Augusta, Aaron Nathan Ang, and Staffan Qabiel Horito.

On the one hand, Bima will still bring in another diaspora player, namely Welber Jardim. The Sao Paulo U-17 player is considered to have the qualities needed by the Garuda Asia squad to undergo a training camp in Germany in the next month.
“The one we took was really the best, Welber [Jardim] and we have seen how Welber performed in Solo and we need his strength,” said Bima.
“Welber will join Germany and yesterday we also communicated with us, he also has an exam. So after the exam they will join Welber in Germany,” said Bima.
There are 28 players from Indonesia who will be brought by Bima Sakti to undergo TC in Germany. Bima provides two slots for diaspora players to train while there.
“We are limited to 30 players there, no more. So the two diaspora players we call, if they are good, we include them, and those who are not good, we send home,” he said.
The plan is for the U-17 Indonesian National Team to leave for Germany on Sunday (17/9) at 14.50 WIB. They are scheduled to undergo training and trial matches for the next five weeks before returning to Indonesia.
The Indonesian U-17 national team is confirmed to be in Group A of the 2023 U-17 World Cup along with Ecuador, Morocco and Panama.
