The Baseball Champions League (BCL) will experience its first edition this weekend, taking place at Parque Kukulcán Álamo, home of the Leones de Yucatán in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB).

This is the first tournament of champion baseball league clubs worldwide, organized by the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), with four teams participating.

TEAMS PARTICIPATING IN THE BCL

Leones de Yucatán (champions of the LMB) Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (champions of the American Association League of the United States) Alazanes de Granma (champions of the Cuban Baseball League) Caimanes de Barranquilla (champions of the Colombian Baseball League)

These teams will hold a series of eight matches in a round robin format in which the first two places will advance to the final, while the two remaining clubs will face each other in a duel for third place.

According to the WBSC, this seeks to create a competition of national teams around the world with the aim of generating a global positioning of the King of Sports and thus reaching new markets in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
