For ATG, which is entering its third year of existence, the start of the 2023 school year marks a turning point with the start of a new discipline: archery. In addition to the launch of this new activity, the club is proud to have consolidated its two other disciplines which make the association successful: blowgun shooting and knife throwing.
One of the characteristics of ATG is to be a family club with practitioners of all ages who, together, explore and practice mechanical shooting disciplines in an atmosphere of sharing and exchanges. As its president Geoffrey Sapin repeats, “we firmly believe in the value of a shared family experience, where parents and children can learn about these captivating activities together. Our commitment to inclusion and sharing of a common passion pushes us to welcome everyone, whatever the level of experience, and wherever they come from, from Grisolles or elsewhere.
The club was able to start this new section thanks to the support of the State, the Occitanie region, department 82 and Ufolep 82, which made it possible to acquire all the necessary equipment, to offer training courses quality to pilot the new discipline and to receive valuable advice. The price is affordable, €100, including license, membership and courses. The partnership with the town hall is solid and essential, loan and maintenance of the land, which contributes to having quality facilities which are gradually improved. Training on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in September and October, then from March to September, shooting taking place outdoors (no field lighting at the moment). These shooting practices are accessible to everyone.
