The trip to the USA was worth it for the BVB proceeds!

BVB collects around 5 million euros for the PR trip. Managing director and marketing boss Carsten Cramer (54) has already drawn a positive balance. Nevertheless, there is still a need for discussion – because he feels left alone by the other German clubs.

Cramer’s clear message: Dortmund and Bayern must not remain the only clubs marketing the Bundesliga with promotional trips abroad.

Cramer: “We are one of two locomotives in German football. It’s really hard work for all of us, not an excursion where you hand out a few flags, but we demand a lot from the sport.”

Cramer continued: “We believe that this is extremely important for the Bundesliga – and we remain hopeful that in the long run it is not just something that Borussia Dortmund and their colleagues from the south have to shoulder. In the end, that’s also latently unfair, because it’s all about substance.”

Even before the USA departure, Cramer had asked the league competition in BILD: “It would be nice if we weren’t the only clubs with Bayern in the long term.”

► The numbers prove him right: 350,000 fans watched the test against Manchester United (3: 2) on ESPN +, the rate was twice as high as the average Bundesliga game in the States.
