A sensational return, for which he has now been honored with the SPORT BILD award in the category “Special Prize of the Editor-in-Chief”.

At the award gala he now gave deep insights into his emotional life – and revealed that dealing with the trauma of the title was more difficult for him than dealing with cancer.
Haller: “This pain was greater. You couldn’t prepare for it. So many people supported us, it was a dream for all our players to win the Bundesliga. Dealing with that pain was extremely difficult. What happened before is something you cannot change. All I could do was look ahead and say to myself, ‘Get through this now!’”

Now Haller is highly motivated to start shooting against Bayern’s 100 million man Harry Kane. The duel for the top scorer cannon? The Ivorian: “It has to be one – if not, that would mean that one of us doesn’t deliver. So we have to be in contention for this award and I’ll do my best to score as many goals as possible.”
And further: “We want to be better than last season. And it’s clear what that means. BVB belongs at the top.”
