Robin Frijns Finds New Seat in Formula E with Envision Racing

Robin Frijns announced a few weeks ago that he was leaving Abt Cupra’s Formula E team. The Dutch driver had a mixed season in which he suffered a complicated wrist and hand fracture early on. Now it seems that he has already found a new seat in the electric racing class.

Frijns will combine his Formula E activities with his work for BMW. Last week it was announced that Frijns has signed a factory contract with the German car manufacturer. He has committed himself to the LMDh project of the brand. BMW is already active in the American IMSA class with this car, but will also take the step to the World Endurance Championship next season.

Frijns will now combine these activities with a new season in Formula E, De Telegraaf reports. According to the Dutch newspaper, Frijns will return to the Envision Racing team. He was already active for this team between 2018 and 2022. He will succeed Nick Cassidy and will form a duo with Sébastien Buemi.

Frijns finished 22nd in the Formula E championship last season with just 6 points. He missed four race weekends due to his injury. Envision Racing therefore still has a lot of confidence in him.
