Led by RJ Barrett, Canada beat Germany in the final of the Supercup 2023 tournament on Sunday in Hamburg, Germany.
Barrett scored 31 points, including the basket that allowed the Canadians to erase their deficit at the end of the fourth quarter and force overtime.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 25 points and 8 rebounds, two more than Montreal’s Lugentz Dort.
In the German camp, Dennis Schröder was the most productive. The guard signed by the Raptors this summer has 26 points on the board.
The Canadian national team will now prepare for the FIBA World Cup, the major international basketball event of the year, and the main opportunity for Canada to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
