Millionaires’ calendar has been tight in recent months. After being a Colombian soccer champion, he had a few days off before the restart of official activity. In the midst of defending his title, he played against Nacional, Crystal Palace and, this Thursday, against Real Zaragoza in Spain’s second division. The ‘Embajador’ team had fun at the Romareda stadium and, despite not having much to play for, they won 1-2 and obtained their second trophy for friendly matches.

The game began with a rough start for Millonarios, who very early on was forced to make a change and, at the same time, modify the tactical system. Alex Moreno Paz felt himself in the 8th minute and was replaced by Elvis Perlaza.

In the development of the first 45 minutes, the Colombian team was superior and dominated the actions but could not reach the goal. Near the end, in the 40th minute, Álvaro Montero excelled with a save on a point-blank shot from striker Bakis.

The goals came in the second half. After minute 55, Luis Paredes went solo in a counterattack play and defined, however, his shot was saved by the goalkeeper of the Spanish team. On the rebound, Beckham David Castro, who accompanied the play through the second sector, pushed the ball to open the scoring.

Just five minutes later, Daniel Cataño, with an outstanding performance, controlled the ball outside the area and volleyed to score a spectacular goal and increase the difference to two goals. After the goal, Millonarios was at his best and dominating possession of the ball, however, Zaragoza’s discount arrived.

In minute 67′, after an indirect free kick, Bakis took advantage of Álvaro Montero’s rebound and defined near the goal line to make it 1-2. After the goal, Millonarios dedicated himself to enduring the result and planted a medium-low block to avoid surprises. Álvaro Montero had another two interventions near the end of the game and the ambassador fans present on the sports stage celebrated them as a goal. In all, he completed 8 saves and was man of the match.

With this victory, Millonarios completed a great performance in their unofficial matches. Now, the team led by Alberto Gamero will return to the country to prepare for the duel against Deportes Tolima that will be played on August 7 at 7:30 pm (Colombian time) at El Campín.
