After just a month as coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique reportedly wants to leave. He didn’t feel comfortable because there was a lot of drama, including about Kylian Mbappe.
Luis Enrique was appointed as PSG’s new coach last July. He replaces the position of Christopher Galtier.
However, after only a month as PSG coach, Enrique is widely reported to want to leave Parc de Princess. The internal drama within PSG is said to have made this Spanish coach uncomfortable.
The conflict is related to Kylian Mbappe’s current situation. PSG want to sell Mbapppe this summer as he only has one year left on his contract.
Les Parisiens certainly don’t want to lose this French National Team star for free next season. However, Mbappe is reluctant to move and wants to complete his contract with PSG. It is rumored that he has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to move on a free transfer next season.
Mbappe’s transfer drama also dragged PSG’s sporting director, Luis Campos.
Campos was threatened with being sacked by PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, because he could not solve the Mbappe problem. Campos is also considered to have used PSG to use players from agent Jorge Mendes.
Quoted from Football, Luis Enrique will most likely leave PSG if Campos leaves. Campos’ departure will likely make it even more difficult for Enrique to control the locker room.
Enrique actually has experience dealing with star players like at Barcelona. However, it seems that problems within the internal camp of PSG’s board of directors have made him feel uncomfortable at the French capital club.
