Mato Grosso do Sul Teams Advance to U-8 Men’s Futsal Club Brazil Cup Quarterfinals

Campo Grande (MS) – The two teams that represent Mato Grosso do Sul in the U-8 Men’s Futsal Club Brazil Cup – Special Division advanced to the knockout stage. Now, Associação Atlética Pelezinho and AAEP/Bayern face each other, this Thursday (10), in a duel valid for the quarterfinals. The match is scheduled for 4:45 pm (MS time), at the Avelino dos Reis Multisport Gym, Guanandizão, in Campo Grande. Entry is free.

Organized by CBFS (Brazilian Indoor Football Confederation), the unprecedented competition has the support of the Government of Mato Grosso do Sul, through Fundesporte (Sports and Leisure Foundation) and Setescc (State Secretariat for Tourism, Sports, Culture and Citizenship). In order to carry out the championship, R$ 62 thousand from the FIE-MS (Fundo de Investimentos Esportivos) were invested. The resource was transferred to FFSMS (Mato Grosso do Sul Indoor Soccer Federation).

Pelezinho reaches the quarterfinals with 100% success and with the second best overall campaign so far, among 12 clubs. For group A, the team from Campo Grande beat Abilio Nery Esporte Clube/AM (6×0), Associação Atlética Balsas Futsal/MA (5×2) and Benfica Futsal Clube/PB (3×2), passing in first place.

AAEP/Bayern, on the other hand, finished in third place in group C and advanced due to having the best technical index among the third placed teams. The team from Bodoquena debuted with a defeat against Clube do Remo/PA (5×3), then won Círculo Militar de Fortaleza/CE (7×3) and suffered another setback in the last round of the qualifying stage, this Wednesday ( 9), against Sãojoseense/Carvalhos/PR (4×7).

Also for the quarterfinals, they face the Bugre do Oeste Training Center (SC) x Fluminense Football Club (RJ), at 1 pm; Sãojoseense/Carvalhos (PR) x Sport Club do Recife (PE), at 2:15 pm and Benfica Futsal (PB) x Clube do Remo (PA), at 3:30 pm. All matches will be broadcast live on CBFS TV on YouTube (click here to access).

So far, the Cup, which started last Monday (7), had 18 games, with 134 goals scored (average of 7.44 per game). The championship continues until Saturday (12), when the champion will be announced. The final will take place at 10 am.
