Marie Benoit still has to wait for her first participation in a Grand Slam tournament. In the first qualifying round for the US Open, which begins next week, the woman from Eupen (WTA 244) lost 6: 4, 7: 6 (7/0) to Japan’s Himeno Sakatsume (WTA 195) late on Wednesday evening.
Benoit was eliminated in the first round two years ago.
