After an argument, for futile reasons, he stopped the car in Viale dei Giardini, in San Leone, and lashing out at his young girlfriend, slapped her and hit her on the head with a baseball bat. A thirty-year-old from Agrigento had the strength to escape, and asked passers-by for help, while the attacker quickly moved away from the area.
The woman, after the first treatments given to her directly on the spot by the 118 health personnel, was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of the “San Giovanni di Dio” hospital. The doctors on duty diagnosed her with a head injury. She is not, fortunately for her, in serious condition.
The victim interviewed by the policemen of the Volunteers section of the Agrigento Police Headquarters reported that she did not want to proceed with a lawsuit against her boyfriend. However, the man’s position remains under investigation by the police. The attack took place the other night, a few steps from the nightlife places of the Agrigento seaside resort.
