Los Angeles Lakers Make Anthony Davis the Highest-Paid Athlete in NBA History with New Contract

The Los Angeles Lakers and star player Anthony Davis have agreed to terms on a new contract that will make him the highest-paid athlete in NBA history.

According to the ESPN network, the 30-year-old athlete will receive $186 million over three years, or an average annual salary of $62 million. Stephen Curry, who held the previous record, will be paid $59.6 million in 2025-2026.

Davis still has two more seasons to go in his current pact. Thanks to this new agreement, the center will remain in the bosom of the Californian team until the end of the 2027-2028 campaign. When his new contract expires, he will have banked a total of $270 million.

In 2022-2023, “AD” averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Los Angeles made his acquisition in 2019 from the New Orleans Pelicans. In his first season with the team, the Lakers won the 17th Larry-O’Brien trophy in their history.
