Persib team doctor Rafi Ghani gave information about the head injury that befell Arsan Makarin in the match against PSIS Semarang, last Sunday (20/8/2023) in week nine of League 1 2023/2024. The player suffered a torn wound on his temple due to a collision with goalkeeper Adi Satryo.
Adi was immediately rewarded with a red card by referee Aidil Azmi. Meanwhile, Arsan continued to fight even though his head was bandaged to cover the wound. Arsan has started to return to training on Tuesday (22/8/2023) at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA).
“Arsan was hit in the temple of his left eye and suffered a torn wound. At the time of the incident apart from having a torn wound, there was indeed a collision on the back of his head. We observed, Alhamdulillah what I’m afraid of is like a mild concussion or something, until now there are no signs in that direction, “explained Rafi.
Even though he was torn, Arsan did not need stitches. Because the bleeding was stopped by the Persib medical team with certain techniques. While waiting for the next match against RANS FC Nusantara, Arsan’s wound was covered in plaster waiting to dry.
“Arsan just so happened that his wound met a wound with a wound. Then when the bleeding stopped, remember that it was already night. It turned out that the bleeding had stopped, we used a certain technique so that the bleeding stopped and no stitches were done,” Radi explained.
Rafi has not yet determined whether Arsan’s injury requires more protection such as head protection. He will still monitor the progress of the player. “We haven’t done it yet (to wear head protection). Later, we still have a few more days, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, then we will decide,” he explained.
