Kozák’s Winning Goal Secures Three Points for Bohemians in Liberec

He played from the start in the first round, then substituted twice. The role of the joker suited Kozák in Liberec: he only needed 12 minutes on the pitch to score the winning goal. Accurate shot to the bar and golden three points for Bohemians.

“I was hoping it could come together like this. I tried to be the first to the ball and hit the goal, luckily it worked,” Kozák recounted.

“And that I didn’t celebrate? You know that, I spent good times in Liberec,” he explained. “It washed over me, I will fully enjoy it in the evening.”

Bohemians had two heroes in rainy Liberec. You already know about Kozák, and the chilled fans in green and white jerseys also applauded goalkeeper Michal Reichl, who promptly saved Ľubomír Tupt’s penalty and picked up the second zero from three league games. “He held us up perfectly,” Kozák bowed to his partner. “Overall, it was a very challenging match and we suspected that a single goal could decide.”

A look at the table is for Kozák et al. pleasant, after three rounds they are sixth with six points. It’s just a shame that the cups ended so quickly, the Klokans jumped right after the first double match with the leader of the Norwegian league Bodö/Glimt (0:3 and 2:4). “Before the trip to Liberec, we had respect and I would have taken a point, because this game marked the end of a difficult period for us, when we combined the league with the cups. Considering how difficult the terrain was, it was an interesting match,” commented Jaroslav Veselý, coach of Bohemians.

“The unconverted penalty by Liberec was crucial, which knocked the opponent down a bit. Towards the end, we created dangerous situations and the goal was in the air, we also had a bit of luck,” admitted Veselý. “I believe that these three points will calm us down.”
