Victor Wembayama has earned the nickname alien for his superhuman physical and athletic characteristics, but the Spurs player has shown that he is not lacking in knowledge about outer space either. The Frenchman recently offered a press conference in which he took stock of his first season in the NBA, but before that he was chatting with some students who were visiting the San Antonio planetarium. And when reporters asked him what he had talked to them about, he answered dark matter.
Then, somewhat jokingly, he was asked to explain what dark matter was. And the center accepted the challenge.
«I like these types of questions because they are different from the usual ones. “Dark matter is a mass that we cannot observe, but that we know exists because it has an influence on the gravitational forces and the speed of gravitational orbits in the galaxy,” he stated. «Its presence in the universe is five times greater than that of observable matter, so it is a great mystery. We cannot observe it, but we do notice its influence. That’s dark matter. Something very science-fiction »he concluded as a joke.

Experts on the subject could argue with this explanation, but on the other hand we should see many other players in the league facing this issue. Whoever asked the question would hardly expect to get a precise answer about it in the middle of this press conference, but what happened can serve to give us an idea of the kind of person Victor is.
