Dominic Thiem is clearly in the top 100 of the ATP ranking again
With the Generali Open in Kitzbühel, the European Snadplatz summer finally came to an end. Thanks to the points earned, the two finalists of the Austrian tennis highlight went up significantly in the ATP rankings. Because while Sebastian Baez can climb 30 places and is currently in 42nd place, he is getting closer to his previous career best of 30th position, Dominic Thiem is back in the top 100 of the ATP computer thanks to the 150 ranking points he has fought for.
To be more precise, the man from Lichtenwörth is now ranked 84th in the men’s world rankings, which corresponds to an improvement of 32 positions. For the Lower Austrian, this also means the best placement in the ATP ranking since mid-April 2022, and that he is again number two in Austrian tennis – 24 positions behind Sebastian Ofner, who, despite his grueling defeat in the round of 16 in the noble Tyrolean resort, has a place in the Ranking up (60).
Dominik Koepfer clearly on the way up again
Washington finalists Daniel Evans and Tallon Griekspoor both set new career highs. The 33-year-old Briton is now 21st (up nine places) and the Dutchman 26th (up eleven). In the top 10, Los Cabos winner Stefanos Tsitsipas overtakes the Norwegian Casper Ruud and is now fourth in the world rankings.
From a German point of view, there is only one significant improvement in the top 100 to report: Dominik Koepfer is continuously improving and, thanks to his participation in the semifinals in Los Cabos, is already in 76th place in the ATP rankings. At the end of May 2023, the Black Forest was still outside the top 100, in March of this year it was only 262nd.
