Goalie Pentz is moving from Leverkusen to Brondby

Goalkeeper Patrick Pentz is trying his luck in Denmark after a difficult six months without appearances at Bayer Leverkusen. The 26-year-old was loaned out to Brondby IF in Copenhagen by the German Bundesliga club on Friday for a year. The ex-Austrian was signed by Leverkusen as number two behind Lukas Hradecky in the winter and never got beyond this role. Especially with regard to the EM 2024 in Germany, he hopes for match practice.

“Patrick is in his prime and we can understand his desire for more appearances as number one,” emphasized Bayer’s sporting director Simon Rolfes. The four-time ÖFB team goalie, who worked for Stade Reims in France for six months before his time in Leverkusen, is under contract with Bayer until the end of June 2025.
