The employees of the Vienna parking space surveillance receive new uniforms that replace the well-known design from 2012. The presentation reveals baseball caps instead of the previous “white caps” and emphasizes the continuation of the dark blue color scheme with eye-catching inscriptions and reflectors. In addition, old uniform parts are donated to social and charitable institutions, while existing inscriptions are removed beforehand.
Vienna’s park sheriffs have replaced their long-serving uniforms with a fresh design. The old uniforms had been in use since 2012 and now it was time for a change. At the presentation on Thursday evening it was clear that the well-known “white caps” had been replaced by baseball caps. The uniforms still retain their predominantly dark blue color and now have the words “Parking Enforcement” clearly visible on the back and chest. There are also reflectors on every piece of clothing, while red and white stripes adorn the pants, shirts and jackets.
Comfortable for 15 kilometers of walking
The parking enforcement authorities (PÜG) walk between ten and 15 kilometers every day. Michelle Krumpschmid, head of department at MA 67 (parking surveillance), emphasized the importance of comfort and durability. “Our employees should feel comfortable in the uniform,” she said. This highlights the importance of the uniforms being not only functional but also comfortable to wear. Mobility City Councilor Ulrike Sima (SPÖ) also expressed herself positively: “They will be real eye-catchers,” she explained in a broadcast.
In order to promote sustainability, almost 10,000 pieces of the old uniforms will be donated to social and charitable institutions. Before distribution, existing labels are removed to ensure neutral use. This measure underlines the City of Vienna’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.
